Mayor’s Statement:
D. Ángel Sáez Huertas, Mayor of San Miguel de Salinas, and to the growing news that come from the Generalitat Valenciana on the Diputación de Alicante:
MANIFESTA
Diputación and municipality are two levels of local government united in terms of composition and provision of services.
The identity of the Provincial Institution is local and, therefore, the reason for its existence, is to articulate the municipal autonomy.
If these functions were transferred to another level of government, we would cease to comply with the principle of subsidiarity, thereby weakening that municipal autonomy.
For all this, from the City of San Miguel de Salinas, we consider that the role of the Provincial Council of Alicante is essential, especially for small municipalities like ours. During these years we have received permanent technical assistance, legal cooperation, advice and above all economic.
In these bad years of crisis that we have taken, the Diputación de Alicante has been there to allow us to continue offering citizens much needed services.
To cite some figures, only last year 2016, the subsidies received from the Diputación for our town, were 489.625,02 euros, of which 150,000 euros were for financially sustainable works. With the Fund proposed by the Council of Mr. Ximo Puig and Ms. Oltra, our municipality would have received only 95,199 euros.
From our local government, we know that the Diputación de Alicante is in itself a Municipal Cooperation Fund, since at present it destines more than 140 million euros to the municipalities of our province, being the Administration that most invests in the towns.
The balance of San Miguel de Salinas with the Diputación de Alicante is clearly positive. Without the provincial institution, we ourselves would not have been able to carry out so many investment projects and so difficult to undertake within a framework of restricting public spending as we find ourselves. Their services today are inalienable.

Comunicat de l’Alcalde:
D. Àngel Sáez Hortes, alcalde de Sant Miquel de les Salines, i davant les creixents notícies que arriben des de la Generalitat Valenciana sobre la Diputació d’Alacant:
MANIFESTA
Diputació i municipi són dos nivells de govern local units pel que fa a composició i prestació de serveis.
La identitat de la Institució provincial és local i, per tant, la raó de la seva existència, és la d’articular l’autonomia municipal.
Si aquestes funcions fossin traslladades a un altre nivell de Govern, deixaríem de complir amb el principi de subsidiarietat, afeblint d’aquesta manera a aquesta autonomia municipal.
Per tot això, des de l’Ajuntament de Sant Miquel de les Salines, considerem que el paper de la Diputació d’Alacant és essencial, sobretot per als municipis petits com el nostre. Durant aquests anys hem rebut permanent assistència tècnica, de cooperació jurídica, d’assessorament i sobretot econòmica.
En aquests anys dolents de crisi que hem portat, la Diputació d’Alacant ha estat aquí per permetre’ns seguir oferint als ciutadans serveis molt necessaris.
Per citar algunes xifres, només el passat any 2016, els ajuts rebuts de la Diputació per al nostre poble, han estat de 489.625,02 euros, dels quals 150.000 euros van ser per a obres financerament sostenibles. Amb el Fons que proposa el Consell del Sr. Ximo Puig i la Sra. Oltra, el nostre municipi hauria rebut, només, 95.199 euros.
Des del nostre govern local, sabem que la Diputació d’Alacant és en si mateixa un Fons de Cooperació Municipal, ja que en l’actualitat destina més de 140 milions d’euros als municipis de la nostra província, sent l’Administració que més inverteix en els pobles.
El balanç de Sant Miquel de les Salines amb la Diputació d’Alacant és clarament positiu. Sense la institució provincial, nosaltres, per si mateixos, no haguéssim pogut dur a terme tants projectes d’inversions i tan difícils d’escometre en un marc de restricció de la despesa pública com el que ens trobem. Els seus serveis a dia d’avui són irrenunciables.
